Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 6, 2026

At Glidefeed, privacy is not a checkbox — it is a design principle. If you are asking whether the app stores your mailbox or app data on Glidefeed servers, the answer is no: email content, the working cache, and Gmail tokens stay on your device or with Google. This policy explains what information we collect, what we avoid collecting, and how we handle Gmail, RSS, diagnostics, and support data. If you have questions, email us at privacy@glidefeed.com.

1. The Short Version

Glidefeed is a local-only email and RSS reader. The app connects directly to Gmail through Google OAuth and to RSS publishers for feeds, then keeps the working mailbox cache on your device with platform storage protection. Glidefeed does not operate a mailbox server, does not store your app data or inbox content on Glidefeed servers, does not store Gmail OAuth tokens on our servers, and does not sell your data.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information strictly necessary to operate the service:

3. What We Never Collect

We are explicit about what we will never do:

4. Local Data Storage

Cached email content and app data are stored locally on your device. In the current iPhone app, the local Gmail cache uses SQLite with iOS Data Protection, backup exclusion, and secure deletion behavior for removed rows:

5. Email Provider Authentication

Glidefeed currently connects Gmail accounts through Google OAuth. When you sign in:

Google API Limited Use Disclosure: Glidefeed requests only the Gmail access needed for user-facing mailbox features and visible Gmail settings features. Glidefeed's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide user-facing email features such as reading, searching, syncing, composing, sending mail, updating mailbox state, and managing your vacation responder when requested.

6. Remote Email Media and External Links

Email HTML preserves remote images/backgrounds in a non-persistent web view so messages render as sent. Remote email, RSS, and icon requests can expose normal network data, including IP address and user agent. External links open only after confirmation.

7. Third-Party Services

Glidefeed uses a minimal set of third-party services:

We do not embed advertising SDKs, social media SDKs, data broker services, or website analytics scripts.

8. Children's Privacy

Glidefeed is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@glidefeed.com and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@glidefeed.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Because email data lives only on your device, your primary protection comes from operating-system security features such as device passcode, biometric unlock, and hardware-backed encryption where available. We encourage you to keep your device and operating system up to date.

For any support information you choose to send us, we use encrypted connections (TLS) and industry-standard access controls.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via an in-app notice. Your continued use of Glidefeed after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

12. Contact Us
